Azincourt

Picture
Inside the museum, Azincourt
On 25th October 1415, in fields close to the quiet rural village of Azincourt, one of the bloodiest battles of the 100 Years War took place. Although outnumbered three to one, the English - led by King Henry V - crushed the French Army, headed up by Connetable d'Albret.

The
museum in the village centre provides an interactive experience of the battle, through commentary and visual effects. In addition there are exhibits of weapons and armour, as well as information panels examining the causes and consequences of the battle in relation to the 100 Years War.

Monuments erected to commemorate the battle are found by following the detailed signposting that also takes the visitor on a circular tour of the battlefields.
